Our Famous Chapel Street

Chapel Street in 1700 was the main road from the market house to the harbour . Many of the houses were the town houses of the gentry. The earliest are from 1720s, but most of them had their frontage changed in the middle of 1850s. Due to fashion and better building material. Don’t always believe the dates you see on buildings.
